5th annual Giant Sunflower Contest |
The contest is sponsored by The Leavenworth Garden and Civic Club and it's free and for ALL kids ages 5-12.
Ribbons and REAL garden tools, watering cans, seeds etc. are the prizes.
Publicity and all information to remind kids to plant their seeds for the contest
will begin April 15th. The Garden Club will furnish seed kits, but encourages the
use of several varieties of large seeded sunflowers.

Flea Festival |
Clean out your closets, garages, and attics and
join the City in it's First Annual Fall Flea Festival! There will
be vendors, food and music. Fun for the whole family. Open to anyone
and everyone. Venders must rent their space in advance. Proceeds
go to the Leavenworth Park Foundation for park improvements!
When: Saturday, September 25, 2004
Time: Set up 6-8am, Sale 8am-4pm
Where: Parking lot south of the Riverfront Community Center and
the Landing Park
Cost: $15.00 for 2 parking stall spaces and one 6-foot table, $5
per extra table
