Description of Service:
We are a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization that provides your group,
organization, or business with presentations and seminars on various
mental health topics. Presentations may be general in nature, or
be devoted to issues that are geared towards the specific needs of
your group.
Why the "K9s" in our name?
We do not offer dog (canine) training services. Many of the presentations
offered do not even involve or mention the use of animals.
However, there is a large and growing interest in that field.
Some of the presentations we offer are related to mental health
concerns and
animals. Scientifically, health benefits of owning a pet have been shown. We
also explore the issues of therapy animals, emotional support animals and service
animals. Many businesses and organizations, as well as individuals (potential
or current users) wish to know more about the use of animals as it pertains to
them. Check out the wide variety of presentations on mental health issues that
are currently available!
OUR MISSION:
To educate people by helping them develop awareness and understanding about the
means of achieving, maintaining and increasing personal mental health. Minds
and K9s, Inc. will provide quality presentations, seminars and training on a
variety of mental health topics, some including the health benefits provided
by the animals in our lives.
PURPOSE:
To Educate people by helping them develop an awareness and understanding about
the means of achieving, maintaining and increasing personal mental health
by:
- Developing individual, business and community education showing how
physical, emotional and environmental conditions have an impact on mental
health.
- Nurturing increased individual comprehension of the information
provided, by using proven multi-sensory methods and techniques during
presentation and seminars.
- Fostering a positive atmosphere for learning
to occur, by providing presentations and seminars in an environment that
is accessible to all
groups, organizations
and businesses within the community; financially viable for them,
and
- Eliminating the stigma often associated with disorders of the brain,
whether that disorder is primarily a physical health concern due to an
illness, injury,
or developmental delay; or accompanied by emotions and feelings
that have a direct impact on the individual, and other persons in their
family and community.
Minds and K9s, Inc.’s educational and charitable work is made
possible by individuals, organizations and businesses that recognize
the importance
of mental health. By their financial and material donations, these
people have made the world a better place for all of us - recognizing
that no one lives in total isolation here on Earth.
