Welcome to the Leavenworth Bicycle Club:
The Leavenworth Bicycle Club membership is open to all cyclists
in Leavenworth County and surrounding areas. Members must be 18
years or older. Individual and Family memberships are $15.00 per
year, and can be prorated for those who will be in the area for
less than a year. Membership includes the club's newsletter, The
Buffalo Tales and Ride Schedule, published 5 times per year, February-March,
April-May, June-July, August-October, and November-January. Also
members receive discounts up to 10% on parts, clothing and accessories
at 15 bicycle and sporting goods shops in the surrounding area.
The club sponsors rides and other activities year-round. Touring,
fitness, mountain bike rides are scheduled year-round. Monthly meeting
are held at First Presbyterian Church, 4th and Walnut Streets, Leavenworth,
Kansas. Meetings are 7:00 PM the third Monday of the month, January
through May, September and October at the church. Special meetings
include a Picnic meeting in August, Annual Business Meeting, Pot
Luck Dinner and Elections in November, and the Club Christmas Party
in December.
Other club activities include the Buffalo Bill Century Ride, one
of the Kansas Survival Series Rides, which includes rides from 10
to 100 miles, in September. Wednesday and Friday evening rides in
the summer. Hiking and camping trips in the winter, Progressive
Dinner ride in February, trips to other locations such as KATY Trail
in Missouri, and trips to rides sponsored by other area clubs. The
Leavenworth Bicycle Club is a club affiliate of the League of American
Bicyclists and the Adventure Cycling Association. |
