A guide provided by the Leavenworth
Historical Society, will join a bus tour and give the highlights
of the historical sites around the city. Points of interest include
the Harvey House, historic homes, the Riverfront Community Center
Union Depot, Leavenworth's Victorian Carroll Mansion & Museum, the
United States Federal Penitentiary, the Dwight D. Eisenhower Veterans
Affairs Medical Center, and St. Mary College. The tour lasts at least

Guided tour of the 19th century 16-room victorian mansion furnished in the
style of the period. Open May through August, monday through Saturday,
10:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Sunday, 1-4:30 p.m.; September through April,
Daily 1-4:30 p.m. Closed January and major holidays. Tour lasts about
one hour. Fee $3.00. This may be combined with the Leavenworth City
tour. The two will take about two and one half hours for a combined

A guide will join your group to tour Ft. Leavenworth's well preserved post,
pointing out many historical buildings and sites. Points of interest
include Memorial Chapel, the command and General Staff College, Oregon-Santa
Fe Trail marks, Buffalo Soldier Monument and a National Cemetery.

One of the finest collections of horse drawn vehicles used in the westward
expansion of this country. Covers period 1804-1917. Audio-visual slide

Visitors are welcomed to visit the DePaul Library's Special Collections: the
Sacred Scripture Collection, the Abraham Lincoln Collection, the Charles
Dickens Collection, the Shakespeare Collection and the Kansas Collection.
The college's park-like grounds include a wildlife preserve. To schedule

This tour could cover many areas depending upon the age and interest
of the group. Possible areas of tour include Nursing Home Care Unit,
consolidated laundry, craft shop area, recreation departments, famous
"Believe It or Not Chape," and National Cemetery. Tour lasts from
one to two hours, depending upon interest. Teenagers to adults would

Heimhof Winery and Gift Shop

Located in scenic rural Leavenworth, 20 minutes south of Fort Leavenworth.
This small farm winery offers seven German-style wines with free
wine-tasting and tours of the facility. The unique gift shop boasts
