The people of the City of Wagga Wagga are dedicated to world peace. They believe mediation, understanding and compromise is a realistic and obtainable alternative to conflict and war.

Through the hard work and determination of many of Wagga Wagga's citizens and community leaders and with the continual support of Wagga Wagga's Rotary Clubs, in February 1993 the City of Wagga Wagga was declared the First Rotary Peace City of the World.
