SANTA FE DEPOT DINER

The Santa Fe Depot Diner opened its doors in 2001 and is owned and operated by Neil and Joyce Bitler. For the past 15 years residents of Tonganoxie and beyond have been enjoying barbeque at Bitler's Hickory House. This tradition of "Good Home Cookin' and BBQ" continues at The Santa Fe Depot Diner.

The Diner is housed in the Santa Fe Depot which was built in 1887 and served the Santa Fe's passengers as well as passengers from Kansas City, Leavenworth, and the Western Railway Inter-Urban Trolley until the late 1930's. The Depot was restored in 1983 by Charles E. Jaster and placed on The National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
